It all began in the late 1930s, around the tables of the Casino de Monte-Carlo: the croupiers, on their feet all evening, asked pharmacist Henri Adam for a product to soothe their aching feet. His yarrow-based cream, soon nicknamed "the toothpaste for feet", became Akileïne. In 1943, Laboratoires Asepta was founded around it and made a choice no one else was making at the time: to devote all of its research to the foot. More than 80 years later, Akileine is still formulated and made in the same place, in the Principality.

That expertise is built with foot care professionals. The formulas are developed and put to the test with podiatry professionals, several are tested under dermatological supervision, and Asepta's exclusive ingredients, such as Silk Lipesters, are protected by patents. Today, most of the products contain over 90% ingredients of natural origin, with no parabens.
